That a general election shall be held, anc] 3.s hereby declared to be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Reach County, Florida, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the 18th day of March, 1969, for the purpose of electing members to the Village Council to fill such offices in Groups 2 and 4 for a period of two years each, Group 3 for the period of one year. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed {o cause a notice of said election to be published in the Palm Beach Post-Times once at least fifteen days prior to said election. Said notice shall be substantially in the following form: NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION MARC}[ 18 1969 1'0 Ahh QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM RF.ACIf, PALM BIiAC{[ COUNTY, FLORIDA: By order of the Village Council of the Village of Nort}t Palm Reach, Pa]_m Reach County, Florida, notice is hereby given that a general election will be held in said Village on the 18th day of h9arch, ].969, for the purpose of electing Councilmen for the following offices, to-wit: Village Councilman, Group 2 (2-year term) Village Councilman, Group 4 (2-year term) Village Councilman, Group 3 (1-year term) Said election will be held in the Village of North Palm Reach, and the polling places are designated as Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct No. 48, and North Palm Beach Elementary School, Precinct No. 49, both in the Village of North Palm Beach. The polls will be open in the voting places from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The following inspectors and clerks have been designated and appointed by the Village Council for the purpose of conducting said election: faith Lutheran Church, Precinct No. 48: Inspectors: Mrs. Grete McBride Mrs. Melba Phillips Mrs. Lois Booth ' Mrs. Faye Lucas Clerk: Mrs. Elizabeth Redding North Palm Beach Elementary School, Precinct No. 49; Inspectors: Mrs. Louise Nash Mr. Ralph Cohn Mrs. Mabel Cohn Mrs. Lillian Drudi Clerk; Mrs. Mary Jane Jenkins The above officials have also been designated and appointed by the Village Council for the purpose of conducting the special run-off election to be held on the fourth Tuesday in March, 1969, if such becomes necessary. 1'he registration books will be open in the Village Clerk's oi'fice between the hours of 9;00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 2;00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays only up to and including the 7th day of March, 1969, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 8, 1969, - 2 - and from 7:00 p.m. to 9;00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 25th day of February, ]_969 and frown 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 1969. Village Clerk Yl1BLISH: Palm Beach Post-Times Section 3. 1'he Village Clerk, as registration officer of the Village, is hereby directed to prepare a list of the names of all cnzal.ified electors appearing on the registration books of the Village, and she shall keep the registration books open at her office between t}~c hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays only up to and including the 7th day of March, 1969, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12;00 Noon on Saturday, March 8, 1969, and from 7;00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 1969, and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 1969. A certified list of such c}ualified electors shall be furnished by the Village Clerk to the inspectors and clerks in charge of the polling places on the day of the election. Section 4. The inspectors and clerks of said general election to be held on March 18, 1969, are hereby appointed as follows: Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct No. 48: Inspectors: Mrs. Grete McBride Mrs. Melba Phillips Mrs. Lois Booth Mrs. Faye Lucas Clerk: Mrs. Elizabeth Redding North Palm Beach Elementary School, Precinct No. 49: Inspectors; Mrs. Louise Nash Mr. Ralph Cohn ' Mrs. Mabel Cohn Mrs. Lillian Drudi Clerk: Mrs. Mary Jane Jenkins Said officers are hereby directed to hold said election in accordance with the law and in such manner as to prevent all fraud, deceit and abuse therein or thereto and to make the returns of said election in the manner prescribed by law. - 3 - Section 5. The offices for which said candidates shall be elected at the general election are: Village Councilman, Group 2 (2-year term) Village Cowtcilman, Group 4 (2-year term) Village Councilman, Group 3 (1-year term) Section 6. The inspectors and clerks of the general election to be held in the Village on the third Tuesday in March, 1969 are hereby designated to be the same officials to serve at the special run-off election, if such election is held. Section 7. The Village Clerk and election officials are hereby directed to arrange for the use of voting machines at said general election, and the form of the ballot shall be such as is consistent with the use of voting machines. Absentee ballots shall be prepared by the Village Clerk in form consistent with exist- ing Village ordinances. Section 8. Immediately after the closing of the polls orr the said el.ectiwt day, the inspectors and clerks shall certify the returns thereof to the Village Council and the Village Council shall hold a meeting on the 19th day of March, 1969, for the purpose of canvassing the returns and declaring the results of said election.
