RESOLUTION 2018-23
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE MARCH 13, 2018 GENERAL ELECTION; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 13, 2018, the Village of North Palm Beach held a general election in
accordance with all applicable Village and state law requirements for the purpose of electing
Councilmembers to the Village Council for Groups 1, 3, and 5; and
WHEREAS, because only one candidate qualified for Group 3, this office was not placed on the
ballot and in accordance with the provisions of the Village Charter and the Florida Election Code,
this candidate was presumed to have voted for himself; and
WHEREAS, two candidates qualified for Group 1 and two candidates qualified for Group 5 during
the time required for the filing of a Notice of Candidacy, and the names of these candidates were
placed on the ballot and submitted to the electorate; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council wishes to officially accept and declare the results of the March 13, 2018
general election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council accepts that the following are the results of the general election
held on March 13, 2018:
For Village Councilmember, Group 1:
Bob Gebbia 690
Deborah Searcy 1,270
For Village Councilmember, Group 3:
Darryl C. Aubrey unopposed
For Village Councilmember, Group 5:
Pride Grinn 703
Marls Mullinix 1,238

Section 3. Based on the foregoing results, the Village Council hereby declares that the following
candidates are elected as Councilmembers for Groups 1, 3, and 5:
For Village Councilmember, Group 1:
Deborah Searcy
For Village Councilmember, Group 3:
Darryl C. Aubrey
For Village Councilmember, Group 5:
Mark Mullinix
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
