A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
' RECOMMENDING THAT A COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEA4 BE INITIATED TO SUPPLEMENT THE RESOURCES OF MUNICIPAL
LIBRARIES AND TO PROVIDE FREE LIBRARY SERVICE TO ALL PALM BEACH COUNTY RESIDENTS.

WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters of West Pa]m Beachts survey and evaluation of present
' library facilities of this County indicaizs the urgent need for improvement and extension of
library service, and
WHEREAS, the majority of County residents do not have adequate library service according
to American Library Association minimum standards, and
WHEREAS, over 100,000 County residents have no library service, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and essential that the cultural and educational growth in this
County be furthered with the initiation of a County Library System to supplement the resources
of the municipal libraries and provide free library service to all Palm Beach County residents,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY' THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF TY~ VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, that:
' Section 1. The establishment of a County Library System by Palm Beach County is hereby
endorsed by the Village Council of the Village of North Pa7.m Beach, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this endorsement shall be brought to the attention of the
Palm Beach County Commissioners £or their consideration by the Village Manager.
