A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, CONCERNING THE PURCHASE BY THE VILLAGE OF A
TRACT OF LAND FROM SCRIPPS-HOWARD BROADCASTING COMPANY; AUTHORIZING
THE VILLAGE OFFICIALS TO CONSUMMATE SUCH PURCHASE AND TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS INCLUDINQ A MORTGAGE PAYABLE FROM FUNDS TO BE
RECEIVED BY THE VILLAGE DURING TH£ FISCAL YEAR 1962-1963; AMENDING
THE BUDGET RESOLUTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1962-1963; AUTHORIZING THE
VILLAGE OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE OFFICIALS OF NORTH
PALM BEACH FRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, INC. RESPECTING THE SALE BY THE
VILLAGE TO THE CHURCH OF PART OF SAID LAND SO TO BE PURCHASED BY
THE VILLAGE FROM SCRIPPS-HOWARD BROADCASTING COMPANY AND.FOR RELATED
PURPOSES; AND CANCELLING THE FREEHOLDERST ELECTION CALLED BY RESOLUTION
N0. 155 TO HAVE BEEN HELD ON MARCH 19, 1963; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the Village has exercised its option to purchase the
following described land in Palm Beach County from Scripps-Howard
' Broadcasting Company:
The East 781 feet of the South 390.5 feet of that
part of the Northeast Quarter (NE%} of the Northwest
Quarter (NW%) of Section 17, lying West of the Right
of Way of Prosperity Farms Rcad, Township 42 South,
Range 43 East, Palm Beach County, Florida; also the
East 781 feet of the North 390.5 feet of that part
of the Southeast Quarter (SE%) of the Northwest
Quarter (NW%) of said Section 1'I, lying West of the
Right of Way of Prosperity Farms Road.
and incident to the closing of such purchase it is necessary that
the Mayor and Clerk execute and deliver the purchase money mortgage
and note hereafter described; and
WHEREAS, North Palm Beach Presbyterian Church, Inc. is desirous
of purchasing a portion of said property from the Village and to
acquire an option on a small additional piece thereof, all upon
' the terms and conditions set forth in the contract later referred
to; and

WHEREAS, in view of such sale by the Village of a portion of
said land, it will not be necessary for the Village to execute the
purchase money mortgage described in Resolution No. 155 or to hold
the freeholders' .election therein called inasmuch as the total purchase
price to be paid by said Village for said land will all be paid in
and out of funds available to the Village-from the Budget for the
fiscal year 1962-1963 as amended as hereafter provided;
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayar and Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to take such steps as are necessary to consummate the
purchase by the Village from Scripps-Howard Broadcasting Company
of the lands above described, including the execution and delivery
of a purchase money mortgage in the £orm as attached hereto.
' Section 2. The Mayar and Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed in the name of the Village to execute a contract in duplicate
with Nnrth Palm Beach Presbyterian Church, Inc. in form as attached
hereto.
Section 3. The Budget Resolution for the fiscal year 1962-1963_,
being Resolution No. 148, is hereby amended by:
(a) Adding to receipts - the sum of $42,000 to
be received in said fiscal year from the
sale by the Village of certain lands to
North Palm Beach Presbyterian Church, Inc.;
(b) Adding to disbursements (including necessary
re-labelling of the contingency item} - the
sum of $60,000 for purchase of the Scripps-
Howard parcel of land, including specifically
the payment by the Village of the purchase
money mortgage and interest thereon due on
' October 15, 1963 by the Village in connection
with such purchase

Section 4. Resolution No. 155, calling a Freeholders'
election for March 19, 1963, be and the same is hereby rescinded.
