A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILi;AGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, RE(~IIESTING THE OFFICIAL NUMBER OF STATE
ROAD 703 BE CHANGID TO STATE ROAD AL4.

WHEREAS, State Road 703 lacks wide recognition as a tourist
route to and from southern Florida, and
• YIHEREAS, State Road 703 carries a reduced volume of tourist
traffic through the Village of North Palm Beach, and
WHEREAS, the portion of the Village of North Palm Beach
traversed by State Road 703 depends largely on tourism for its
income, and
WHEREAS, it would be in the interest of the health, welfare
and safety of the citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach to
have increased tourist traffic and business through and in the
' Village, and
WHEREAS

WHEREAS, increased tourist traffic and business would
result if the number of the present highway was changed from State
Road 703 to State Road AlA,
Ned, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVID by the Village Council of
the Village of North Palm Beach, Flo~S.da,
that the
• State Road Department be petitioned to change the official number
of State Road 703 in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, to
State Road AlA.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
' resolution be transmitted to the Board of County Commissioners of
Palm Beach County, Florida, with the request that said Board concur
in this resolution and transmit it to the proper officials of the
State Road Department requesting their compliance.
