A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTItSG THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF
PALM BEACH,
TO CONSIDER THE ESTABLISHMENT, OPERATION, AND
MAINTEPdANCE OF ADDITIONAL PUBLIC RECREATION AREAS INCLUDING ADDITIONAL
BEACH AREAS FOR OCEAN BAT1iING AND FISHING IN THE COASTAT, AREAS OF PALM BEACH
COUNTY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
there are few existing public recreational areas for ocean
bathing and fishing in the vicinity of North Palm Beach;
there are large areas of undeveloped land in the coastal
areas of the County ideally suited for development as public beach areas;
the existing public recreational facilities for ocean
bathing are overcrowded and inadequate to meet the needs of a growing
population;
the need for such additional recreational facilities is
not limited to the area within the Village of North Palm Beach but extends
throughout the entire Co-unty;
THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE .VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
Section 1. That the Village Council of the Village of North Palm
Beach, Florida, hereby urges and requests the County Commission of Palm Beach
County to give serious consideration to:
The enlargement of existing county recreational facilities for
ocean bathing and fishing; and
The establishment oi.° new public recreational facilities in order
to provide for better ocean bathing and fishing areas; and
The establishment oi.' a public beach area on -the-east side of
State Road #703 nori;h of Singer Island.
Section 2. That the Village Council of the Village of North Palm
Beach pledges its cooperation to the County Commission of Palm Beach County
in studying this problem in an effort to develop a solution to overcrowded
conditions now existing in such public recreational areas.
Section 3. That the Village Clerk shall be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to deliver forthwith a certified copy of this
Resolution to the County Commission of Palm Beach County.
