1957-25 Appointing a Zoning Commission and a Zoning Board of AppealsPage RESOLUTION #25 ' A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF TAE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING A ZONING COMMSSSION AND A ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS. WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach is authorized under its ' Charter: To provide regulations and restrictions governing the height, number of stores, construction and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage and portion of lot that may be occupied, the size of yards, courts, and other open spaces, and the location and use • of buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, residences, apartment houses and other purposes. Such regulations may provide for a board of appeals to de- termine and vary their application in harmony with their general purpose and intent and in accordance with the general provisions of the ordinances; and may also, by a zoning ordinance, regulate buildings and structures according to their construction and the nature and ex- tent of their use and the use of lands therein. All such regulations shall be uniform for each class or kind of buildings or other structures throughout each district, but the regulations in one district may differ from those in other districts, and all such regulations shall be made in accordance with a comprehensive plan and design for one or more of the following purposes: To lessen congestion in the streets, to secure safety from fire, panic and other dangers; to promote health, morals, or the general welfare; to provide adequate light and air; to prevent the overcrowding of land or buildings; and to avoid undue con- centration of population. Such regulations shall be made with reasonable consideration, among other things, to aesthetics, to the character of the district and its pecu- liar suitability for particular uses, and with a view of conserving the value of property and encouraging the most appropriate use of land throughout such municipality." and WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to appoint a Zoning Commission and a Zoning Board bf Appeals; • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the following persons be and they are hereby named ' as a Zoning Commission for the Village of North Palm Beach: Charles A.Cunningham Herbert A. Ross Richard E. Ross John A. Schweneke Jay H.White The terms of office of such members shall be until January 1, 1960, or until ' their successors shall be named and qualified. fine duties of such Zoning • Page 2~ Commission shall be to recommend the boundaries of the various zoning districts and the appropriate regulations to be enforced therein. Such commission shall make a preliminary report and hold public hearings thereon before submitting its final report to the Village Council. Such Zoning Commission shall have all the powers and authority set forth in Chapter 176, Florida Statutes, 1955. Section 2. That the following persons are hereby named as the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of North Palm Beach: Charles A, Cunningham Herbert A, Ross Richard E. Ross John A, Schweneke Jay H.White The terms of office of-such members shall be until January 1, 1960, or until their successors shall be named and qualified. Such Zoning Board of Appeals shall have all of the powers provided for Boards of Adjustment under the pro- visions of Chapter 176, Florida Statutes, 1955.
