ROLL CALL
Mayor Norris called the meeting to order at 8:24 p.m. All members of Council were present.
All members of staff were present.
INFRASTRUCTURE SURTAX OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
Discussion was held regarding a draft Resolution creating the Village of North Palm Beach
Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Committee.
Mrs. Janjua related that Palm Beach County voters approved a one -cent sales surtax, which became
effective January 1, 2017, the proceeds of which are limited to the financing, planning, and
construction of infrastructure. Mrs. Janjua stated a municipality may either participate in an
oversight committee created by the Palm Beach County League of Cities or create its own, and noted
the Village Council had elected to create its own committee.
Mr. Rubin reviewed the draft resolution creating the required Infrastructure Surtax Oversight
Committee. Mr. Rubin stated the Committee would be comprised of five members with staggered
terms of two years. Mr. Rubin explained the duties of the Committee, including reviewing surtax
expenditures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and issuing an annual report.
By consensus, the Council forwarded this item to the next Regular Session agenda.

With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
