09-28-1998 VC SP-M• MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1998 Present: David B. Norris, Mayor Charles O'Meilia, Vice Mayor Dr. Edward M. Eissey, President Pro Tem Gail H. Vastola, Councilman Joseph A. Tringali, Councilman Dennis W. Kelly, Village Manager Kathleen F. Kelly, Village Clerk Absent: George Baldwin, Village Attorney ROLL CALL Mayor Norris called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. All members of Council were • present. All members of staff were present except for Village Attorney George Baldwin. The purpose of the Special Meeting was to make a decision regarding the operation of the Country Club restaurant. A committee comprised of the Village Manager, Finance Director and Country Club Administrator presented a proposal for temporary restaurant operation 7 days a week for 3 months and gave an estimated cost for personnel and inventory. Councilman Vastola moved that the Village take over the Country Club, using the staff that has been lined up, with hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and go out with Requests for Proposals for a permanent restauranteur who can be involved with the construction of the restaurant. Vice Mayor O'Meilia seconded the motion, and all present voted aye. The Village will begin operation on Monday, October 5, 1998. The Council agreed by consensus to consider a budget amendment at the next Regular Session of the Council to fund the restaurant operation. No alcohol will be served until the liquor license is obtained. President Pro Tem Eissey moved to allow Eddie D'Ambra to hold a tournament with cooking to be conducted out on the golf course for the tournament participants, as already planned by Mr. D'Ambra. The Village Manager was directed to check whether • there has been a relationship between Mr. D'Ambra and Mr. VanSchaffelaar. Councilman Tringali seconded the motion, and all present voted aye. • ADJOURNMENT With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m. ~~//~ K thleen F.
