ROLL CALL
Mayor Vastola called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. All members of Council were
• present except President Pro Tem Kelley and Councilman Tom Valente. All members of
staff were present except Village Attorney George Baldwin.
PURPOSE OF THE MEETING
The Special Session was called to constitute the Village Council as the official General
Election Canvassing Board for the purpose of canvassing the vote of March 10, 1998, in
accordance with Section 10-11 of the Village Code.
COMPUTER PRINTOUT INSPECTED
The Council inspected the computer printouts containing the election returns as certified
by Theresa LePore, Palm Beach County Supervisor ofi Elections.
TOTAL COUNT OF BALLOTS CAST
The total count of ballots cast, including absentee ballots, in the General Election of
March 10, 1998, was 1,718.

RESOLUTION 11-98 ADOPTED -DECLARING ELECTION RESULTS
Councilman Norris moved that Resolution 11-98 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 10, 1998
be adopted. Councilman O'Meilia seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
OATHS OF OFFICE ADMINISTERED .
The Village Clerk administered the Oaths of Office to incumbent Gail H. Vastola, and
newly-elected Councilmen Dr. Edward Eissey and Joseph A. Tringali, copies of said oaths
being attached to the official Minutes of Record.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at
7:15 p.m.

• President Pro Tem Kelley gave the invocation, and Mayor Vastola led the public in the
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES

REPORT OF THE MAYOR
Mayor Vastola removed Item 4.a. regarding dock regulations from the Workshop Session
agenda. Mayor Vastola reported that she and the staff had met with representatives of
Lost Tree Village regarding annexation.
Vice Mayor O'Meilia reported on the Palm Beach County Municipal League meeting.
