ROLL CALL
Mayor Norris called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. All members of Council were
present. All members of staff were present except Village Attorney George Baldwin, who
was out of town. Special Counsel Thomas Baird was present.
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the Public concerning Bill
924, a proposed ordinance amending Subsection A of Section 45-34, C-2 Automotive
Commercial District, ofi Article III of Appendix C-Zoning of the Code of Ordinances of the
village; adding a permitted use of Adult Entertainment establishment.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Elizabeth Redding, 713 Sandpiper Way, asked that the proposed ordinance be explained
to her. Special Counsel Thomas Baird explained to Mrs. Redding that the purpose of the
ordinance, as well as a companion ordinance that will be considered at a second Public
Hearing on August 13th, is to ensure that the Village has an Adult Entertainment
ordinance that can be upheld as constitutional by theoretically providing available
locations for adult entertainment establishments, if the current property owners were
willing to sell their land. This amendment is designed to strengthen the Village's present
ordinance.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further comments from the public, the meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
