ROLL CALL
Mayor Vastola called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. All members of Council were
present except President Pro Tem Kelley, who was absent due to illness. All members
of staff were present except Village Manager Dennis Kelly, who was out of town. Acting
Village Manager Shaukat Khan was present.
• PURPOSE OF THE MEETING
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the public concerning Bill
878, a proposed ordinance rezoning a parcel of land located on U. S. One between
McLaren Road and Carolinda Road within the Village and more particularly described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof from Palm Beach County Zoning
District CG, General Commercial, to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Mort Levin, 115 Lakeshore Drive, expressed his concern that C-1 Neighborhood
Commercial District doesn't distinguish between Neighborhood Commercial and Regional
Commercial, and questioned whether something of a regional nature might be allowed
on that parcel of land between McLaren Road and Carolinda Road. Mr. Levin was told
that the current moratorium was imposed for the purpose of studying the zoning, with
possible changes to be recommended.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further comments from the public, the meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
