Mayor Marks called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. All members of Council were
present. All members of staff were present.
. PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the Public concerning Bill
820, a proposed ordinance of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, rezoning a parcel
of land approximately 29.8 acres located immediately south of Monet Road, north of
Garden Lane, west of Intracoastal Waterway, and east of Prosperity Farms Road within
the Village from R-2 Multiple-Family Dwelling District to R-3 Apartment Dwelling District.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Manny Grinn, 536 Greenway Drive, told the Council that they couldn't do any rezoning
unless they fiirst change the Comprehensive Plan.
Warren Avis, 1201 U. S. Highway One, Suite 435, reiterated his comments of opposition
to the granting of the Sanctuary Cove Phase II P.U.D. and subsequent rezoning, and
further added that he understands that the parcel immediately to the north of his property
has or will be petitioning for the same sort of zoning change, R-2 to R-3, which he feels
make it even more important to stop the rezoning right now.
Bob Johnson, 733 Nighthawk Way, told the Council that he is against the rezoning firom
R-2 Multiple-Family Dwelling District to R-3 Apartment Dwelling. He wants to maintain
• the small-town atmosphere that is unique to the Village of North Palm Beach, where
neighbors know neighbors and people have invested themselves in the community.
