11-09-1993 VC PH1-MMINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 1993 Present: V. A. Marks, M. D., Mayor Gail H. Vastola, Vice Mayor Jeffrey H. Atwater, President Pro Tem Tom Valente, Councilman Judy M. Pierman, Councilman Dennis w. Kelly, Village Manager George W. Baldwin, Village Attorney Kathleen F. Kelly, Village Clerk ROLL CALL Mayor Marks called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. All members of Council were present. All members of staff were present. PURPOSE OF PUBLIC HEARING The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the Public concerning Bill 730, a proposed ordinance of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, rezoning Lot 1, Block 70, Marina ' Addition, from zoning classification C-1A Limited Commercial District to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District. COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC Larry Smith, on behalf of -the applicant, Caravel Investments, withdrew the application for rezoning. Mr. Smith stated that application had been made by his client, Caravel Investments, for the purpose of putting a Walgreen's store on the site. According to Mr. Smith, Walgreen's is no longer interested in this site. Mr. Smith further stated he had consulted with the property owner's attorney in Chicago, who notified Mr. Smith that the property owner did not wish to proceed with the rezoning application.
