ROLL CALL
Mayor Pierman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. All members
of Council were present except Vice Mayor Kelsey, who was out of
town. All members of staff were present except the Village
Attorney.
PURPOSE OF MEETING
The purpose of the meeting was to take action on the recommendation
of the Labor Consultant regarding the grievance filed by Richard
Fedak concerning overtime pay.
During discussion, Glen Torcivia, Labor Consultant for the Village
of North Palm Beach, recommended that the Village Council settle
the grievance by paying overtime with increment pay for
certification of Eire, EMT and Paramedics being included in the
base pay rate, for purposes of overtime only.
Councilman Valente moved to accept the proposed arbitration
settlement. President Pro Tem Marks seconded the motion, with the
condition that Mr. Torcivia negotiate a compromise by paying
overtime with increment pay included in base pay from this date
forward only. This condition was accepted by the maker of the
motion.
Thereafter, all present voted aye.
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
