MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION
OF THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, 1988
Present: Tan Valente, Mayor
V. A. Marks, M.D., Vice Mayor
Judy M. Pierman, President Pro Tem
Kenneth H. Mays, D.M.D., Councilman

Mayor Valente called the Special Session to order at 7:02 p.m.
All members of the Council and the Village Clerk were present.
The purpose of this meeting is to constitute the Council as the
offical General Election Canvassing Board for the purpose of
canvassing the vote of March 8, 1988 in accordance with Section
10-25 of the Village Code.
The Council inspected the computer print out sheet containing the
election returns, which had been certified by Jackie Winchester,
Supervisor of Elections of Palm Beach County.
The total count of ballots cast in the General Election of
March 8, 1988, including absentee ballots, is 4,292. The
results are as follows:
Village Councilman, Group 1:
Judy Pierman Unopposed
' Village Councilman, Group 3:
Jerry Gardner received 2,916 votes
Manny Grinn received 1,082 votes
Village Councilman, Group 5:
Tan Valente Unopposed
Vice Mayor Marks moved that Resolution No. 10-88 entitled:
A RESOL~UTIaV OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OE THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD
~I MARCH 8, 1988
be adopted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mundt and
passed unanimously.
The Village Clerk administered Oaths of Office to newly elected
Councilman Jerry Gardner and to Councilman Valente and Councilman
Pierman who had been re-elected. These oaths are in accordance
with Section 2-41 of the Village Code and shall be spread upon
the minutes of the Council.
' There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting was adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
