Mayor Mundt called the Special Meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. All
members of the Council were present. All members of the staff
were present except the Village Clerk, who was at a Clerk's
Conference.
The Special Meeting was called for the purpose of reviewirxl
staff recommendations regarding North Palm Beach Country Club
renovations.
The Village Manager reviewed reports of March 29 and April 12
which had been given to Council concerning golf, tennis and the
pool.
President Pro Tem Valente moved to consider a motion to proceed
with the study of the golf course renovation. Councilman Gardner
seconded the motion.
Councilman Marks left the meeting at 8:00 p.m. and returned at
8:05.
Mayor Mundt opened the floor to questions fran the audience. A
petition was presented to Council by Edith Ridgway on behalf of
the persons wishing to walk the golf course.
Mayor Mundt passed the gavel to Vice Mayor Pierman and moved to
amend President Pro Tem Valente's motion as follows: That we
proceed with a study of the golf course by directing Village
Staff to recommend three architects to the Village Council with
the understanding that they are to draw specifications for the
renovation of holes 10-18 and the driving range of the North
Palm Beach Country Club. Their submitting of the bid would be a
specifications phase with attendant costs and an oversight phase
with its attendant costs. Motion died for lack of a second.
Mayor Mundt moved to amend the motion as follows: that we
proceed with a study of the golf course by directing Village
staff to recornnend three architects to the Village Council with
the understanding that they are to draw specifications for the
renovations of holes 10-18 and the driving range of the North
Palm Beach Country Club. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Marks.
During the discussion Councilman Marks withdrew his second, and
Mayor Mundt withdrew his amended motion.
Vice Mayor Pierman then passed the gavel back to Mayor Mundt.
During the discussion Councilman Gardner withdrew his second and
President Pro Tem Valente withdrew his motion.

President Pro Tem Valente moved to authorize staff to make a
request for proposals to hire an architect to proceed with the HIRE ARCHITECT
renovation of holes 10-18 and the driving range. The motion was AND PROCEEDD
seconded by Councilman Marks and passed unanimously. WITH RENOVATIONS
The meeting recessed at 9:05 and reconvened at 9:15. RECESS
President Pro Tem Valente moved to take $150,000 from the General MOTION TO PUT
Etmd Surplus and put tennis under the Recreation Department and TENNIS UNDER REC.
then go out to bid for 6 Har-Tru tennis courts. The motion was DEPT. & GO OUT ~
seconded by Councilman Marks. The motion passed 3-2 with Vice TO BID FOR 6 HAR-
Mayor Pierman and Councilman Gardner opposed. TRU COURTS
Council deleted items "b" and "d" from the agenda. AGENDA ITEMS
DELETED
There being no further business to come before the Council, the ADJOURNMENT
meeting was adjourned at 9:56.
