Mayor Valente called the Regular Session to order at 7:30 p.m.
All members of the Council and the staff were present.
Councilman Mundt gave the invocation and Mayor Valente led the
Council and the public in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The organization of the Council is required by the Village
Charter to be done at the next regular meeting of the Council
following the election of any Councilman. Therefore, Council
proceeded with its organization in accordance with Article III,
Section 3, of the Village Charter.
V. A. Marks nominated Craig Mundt for the office of Mayor of the
Village of North Palm Beach. There being no further nominations,
Craig Mundt was elected Mayor.
Ken Mays nominated Tom Valente for the office of Vice Mayor of
the Village of North Palm Beach. There being no further
nominations, Tom Valente was elected Vice Mayor.

Judy Pierman nominated V. A. Marks for the office of President KEN MAYS
Pro Tem of the Village of North Palm Beach. Craig Mundt ELECTED PRES.
nominated Ken Mays. Council then voted by ballot on the PRO TEM
nominations for President Pro Tem. Ken Mays received three votes
and V. A. Marks received two votes; therefore, Ken Mays was
elected President Pro Tem.

Mayor Mundt moved that Resolution No. 6-86 entitled: RES. 6-86
ADOPTED
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPOINTING CERTAIN OFFICERS FOR SUCH VILLAGE
be adopted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Pierman and
passed unanimously.
The Village Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Mundt, OATHS OF
Vice Mayor Valente and President Pro Tem Mays. Those oaths are OFFICE
in accordance with Section 2-41 of the Village Code and shall be ADMINISTERED
spread upon the minutes of the Council.
Former Mayor Valente turned the gavel over to Mayor Mundt. GAVEL TURNED

Vice Mayor Valente moved that we accept the recommendtion of the
Recreation Advisory Board that Council examine the facility for
the entrances and exits at the Community Center as it is
extremely dangerous and would cause accidents as it is now
designed. The motion was seconded by Councilman Marks and passed
unanimously.
Vice Mayor Valente moved that we accept the recommendation of the
Country Club Advisory Board that a special joint meeting be held
with the Council and the Advisory Board to select the new Lessee
from the four applicants that are under consideration; namely,
Tefco, Inc., Dick McKinnon, Armando Denaro and Dick Gohs. The
motion was seconded by President Pro Tem Mays and passed
unanimously.
Councilman Marks moved that Bill No. 478 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 2-171, SECTION 2-178 AND SECTION 2-179 OF
THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE
be placed on first reading and read by title alone. The motion
was seconded by Vice Mayor Valente and passed unanimously.
Vice Mayor Valente moved that Bill No. 479 entitled:
