03-12-1986 VC SP-M MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 1986 Present: Tom Valente, Mayor Al Moore, Vice Mayor Harriet Nolan, President Pro Tem Craig Mundt, Councilman Raymond J. Howland, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: V. A. Marks, M. D., Councilman Mayor Valente called the Special Session to order at 7:02 p.m. All members of the Council were present except Councilman Marks. The Village Manager and the Village Clerk were present. The purpose of this meeting is to constitute the Council as the official General Election Canvassing Board for the purpose of canvassing the vote of March 11, 1986 in accordance with Section 10-25 of the Village Code. The Council inspected the computer print out sheet containing the election returns, which had been certified by Jackie Winchester, Supervisor of Elections of Palm Beach County. The total count of ballots cast in the General Election of March 11, 1986, including absentee ballots, is 1,608. The results are as follows: Village Councilman, Group 1: Jim Green received 621 votes Judy Pierman received 946 votes Village Councilman, Group 3: Ken Mays Unopposed Village Councilman, Group 5: Immanuel Grinn received 167 votes Barbara Guncheon received 452 votes Tom Valente received 931 votes Vice Mayor Moore moved that Resolution No. 5-86 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 11, 1986 be adopted. The motion was seconded by President Pro Tem Nolan and passed unanimously. The Village Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Councilman Tom Valente, who had been re-elected, and to Councilman Ken Mays and Councilman Judy Pierman, who had been newly elected. These oaths are in accordance with Section 2-41 of the Village Code and shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council.
