VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1983

Mayor Valente called the Public Hearing to.order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL
All members of the Council were present except Vice Mayor
Marks. All members of the staff were present except the
Village Attorney.
The purpose-of the Public Hearing is to hear the comments
of the public concerning the proposed 1983-84 operating
budget, including Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and the
Country Club.
Legal notice of this Public Hearing was published in The
Post on September 19, 1983 and was posted according to law.
Mr. Donald Welch, 815 Dogwood.Road, stated he would like the
Village to open the Country Club pool to all Village residents
for a fee of $1.00. He suggested a fee of $2.00 for non-
residents who wished to use the pool. He said he would like
to see this tried next summer fora couple of months.
Mr. Arthur Viksne, 724 Prosperity Farms Road, said he hoped
the Council would consider adding the ANI-ALI system to the
911 program, adding additional officers north of the Parker
Bridge,.and two additional paramedics. He also stated that
he felt the salaries of the North Palm Beach dispatchers
is too low.
Barbara Guncheon, 541 Lighthouse Drive, stated she felt the
Council should address the subject of increasing the budget
for our fire, paramedic and police officers.
Mr. Ted Babbitt, 142 Bowsprit, asked the Council if the budget
contained money to demolish the Winter Club.
The questions posed by Messrs. Welch, Viksne, Babbitt and
Mrs. Guncheon were answered by the Village Council, and all
comments directed toward the Council by these persons were
taken into consideration.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
the Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
