Vice Mayor Marks called the Regular Session to order at 7:30
p.m. All members of the Council were present except Mayor
Valente. Councilwoman Nolan arrived-at 7:31 p.m. All members
of the staff were present.
President Pro Tem Mundt gave the invocation and Councilman Moore
led the Council and the public in the Pledge of Allegiance to
the Flag.
The Minutes of Regular Session held Thursday, May 12, 1983, were
approved as written.
Vice Mayor Marks, on behalf of the Village, presented a proclama-
tion to Larry Joyce, Fire Chief, proclaiming the week of May
22-28, 1983, as "Fire Fighters Appreciation Week" in the Village.

Mr. Dennis Abrams, President, Emergency Supply Company, Palm PRESENTATION
Beach Gardens, Florida, presented. to the Public Safety De- OF INFANT
partment, in Fire Chief Larry Joyce`s name, an oxygen inhalator MANNEQUIN FOR
and infant mannequin to be used for CPR training. This was CPR TRAINING
presented in recognition of Larry's heroism in saving the life TO PUBLIC
of an infant during an airplane .flight on Saturday, May 21, 1983.. SAFETY DEPT.
The Village Council announced that there will be a Special
Workshop Session concerning the Future of the Winter Club
on Wednesday, June 8, 1983.at,7:30 p.m. in the .Council Chambers
of Village Hall. All persons who had an interest in the Winter
Club previously will be notified of this meeting.

Club Advisory Board held May 17, 1983
Concerning the recommendation of the Recreation Advisory Board
that Council reconsider at budget time replacing the lights
and resurfacing the tennis courts at..the North Palm Beach
Country Club, Councilman Moore moved that we accept this
recommendation. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman
Nolan and passed 3-1, with President Pro Tem Mundt opposed.

Concerning the recommendation of the Recreation Advisory Board that REC. AD. BD.
action be taken on the guide wire that is very close to the. bike RECOMMENDATION
path leading to the North Palm Beach Community Center, this wire RE GUIDE WIRE
has been removed. The Chairman of this Board, will be advised,
in writing, that this has been taken care of.
Concerning the recommendation of the North Palm Beach Country
Club Advisory Board that Council accept the bid of Club Car, Inc.
for golf carts, Councilman Moore moved that we accept the recom-
mendation, but we hold in abeyance the award of the bid until we
can study all bids and have it ready for next year's budget. The
motion was seconded by Councilwoman Nolan and passed unanimously.
Councilman Moore moved that we reject the recommendation of the
North Palm Beach Country Club Advisory Board that a used ice
machine be purchased, as the one. in use at.the Club is old and
unreliable. The motion died for lack of a second.
President Pro Tem Mundt moved that we accept the recommendation.
Vice Mayor Marks passed the gavel to President Pro Tem Mundt
and seconded the motion. The motion failed 2-2, with Vice Mayor
Marks and President Pro Tem Mundt voting for, and Councilman
Moore and Councilwoman Nolan voting against.
President Pro Tem Mundt returned the gavel to Vice Mayor Marks.
President Pro Tem Mundt moved that we authorize the Village
Manager to spend up to $1,995.00 at the Country Club and let
him negotiate the best he can on either the new or used equip-
ment. Vice Mayor Marks passed. the gavel to President Pro Tem
Mundt and seconded the motion. The motion failed 2-2, with
Vice Mayor Marks and President Pro Tem Mundt voting for, and
Councilman Moore and Councilwoman Nolan voting against.
President Pro Tem Mundt returned the gavel to Vice Mayor Marks,
On motion of President Pro Tem Mundt, seconded by Councilman
Moore, all present voting aye, proposed.Resolution No. 27-83
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE .COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE BID OF SOUTHERN INTERNATIONAL
FIREWORKS FOR FIREWORKS DISPLAY IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,874.00
FROM ACCOUNT N0. 43-572-49.32 (PUBLIC EVENTS)
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 27-83.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
