Vice Mayor Marks moved that Bill No. 424 entitled: MOTION TO PLACE

AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE,
THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE VILLAGE, BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE
THERETO THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE, 1982.EDITION, INCLUDING
APPENDICES A, B, C, E, F, G, 0 AND P, THERETO AND SETTING
FORTH AMENDMENTS TO SAID STANDARD BUILDING CODE
be placed on first reading and read by title alone. The motion
was seconded by President Pro Tem Mundt.
Vice Mayor Marks left the.meeting at 7:55 p.m. and returned at
7:59 p.m.
Councilman Moore moved to amend the motion as follows: In MOTION AMENDED
Section 106.5 that the word "shall" be substituted for "may"
and delete "at his discretion." The motion was seconded by
Councilwoman Nolan and passed 3-1, with President Pro Tem
Mundt opposed.
Thereafer Council voted on the main motion, as amended, which MAIN MOTION PASSED
passed unanimously. UNANIMOUSLY
Vice Mayor Marks moved that.Resolution No. 36-83 entitled: MOTION TO ADOPT
RCS. 36-83
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, IN OPPOSITION TO THE AMENDMENT OF
THE FLORIDA STATUTES OR THE ENACTMENT OF ANY SPECIAL
ACT RELATIVE TO MERGER OF MUNICIPALITIES
be adopted. The motion was seconded by President Pro Tem
Mundt.

Councilman Moore moved to amend the motion by rewording Section MOTION TO AMEND
3 as follows: A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to the FAILED 1-4
Chairman of the Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation. The
motion was seconded by Councilwoman Nolan and failed 1-4, with
Councilman Moore in favor and all other members of the Council
opposed.
Thereafter Council voted on the main motion which passed.unan-
imously.
President Pro Tem Mundt moved that we authorize the Mayor to
execute the American Red Cross Contract. The motion was seconded
by Vice Mayor Marks and all present voted aye.
Councilwoman Nolan moved that a covering letter (over the
signature of the Mayor) be sent to Jackie Winchester stating
that the Village Council has approved the provisions of the
bill which takes effect January 2, 1984 concerning Uniform
Municipal Election Dates. The motion was seconded by Vice
Mayor Marks and passed unanimously.
President Pro Tem Mundt moved that the Village participate in
the County Interlocal Agreement with Municipalities having
reserve areas, so that they may assume certain responsibilities
therein. The motion was seconded .by Vice Mayor Marks and passed
unanimously.
Vice Mayor Marks moved that the Winter Club be demolished, and
that we go out to bid for demolishing the building. The motion
was seconded by President Pro Tem Mundt and passed 4-1, with
Councilman Moore opposed.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
the meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m:
