A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF
UNITED HEALTHCARE TO PROVIDE HEALTH INSURANCE TO VILLAGE
EMPLOYEES AND ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FROM HUMANA TO
PROVIDE DENTAL INSURANCE TO VILLAGE EMPLOYEES AND
AUTHORIZING CANCELLATION OF EXISTING POLICIES; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in an effort to control rising costs and address employee concerns regarding the
Village's current health and dental insurance provider, the Village requested that The Gehring Group
issue a request for proposals from various insurance companies; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration recommends the acceptance of the proposal submitted by
United Healthcare to provide health insurance benefits to Village employees and the proposal
submitted by Humana to provide dental insurance benefits to Village employees; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the acceptance of the proposals submitted by
United Healthcare and Humana is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby accepts the proposal submitted by United Healthcare
to provide health insurance to Village employees and the proposal submitted by Humana to
provide dental insurance to Village employees in accordance with the pricing, terms and
conditions set forth in their responses to the solicitation issued by The Gehring Group. The
Village Council further authorizes members of Village Administration to take all actions
necessary to implement these insurance policies and to cancel the policies currently in effect as
of October 1, 2016.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
Section 4.
