Wallrer, Village Clerk Mayor Marks called the Regular Session to order at 7:30 p.m. ROLL CALL All members of the Council-and the staff were present. Mayor Marics gave the invocation and President Pro Tem INVOCATION & Brawn led the Cotmcil and the public in the Pledge of PLEDGE OF Allegiance to the Flag. ALLEGLANCE The Minutes of Regular Session held Thursday, April 9, 1981 APPROVAL OF stand as prepared. MINUPES Mayor Marks, on behalf of the Village, presented a Proclamation, PRO(ZAMATION - proclaiming the week beginn'nv May 1st as "Youth Week" in the "YOUIIi WEEK" Village, to Mr. Jim Southard of the North Palm Beach Elks' Lodge No. 2069 who was present to accept it. Mayor Marks, on behalf of the Village, presented a Proclamation, PROCLAMATION - proclaiming May 6th as "Better Water for People Day" in the "BETTER WATER. FOR Village, to Beverly Pope of Seacoast Utilities who was present PEOPLE DAY" to accept it. The Minutes of Regular Meeting of the North Palm Beach 25th ACCEPTANCE OF Anniversary Comm_ttee held April 1, 1981 stand as corrected. NffNUTES The Minutes of Regular Meeting of the Code Enforcement Board held April 6, 1981 stand as prepared. The Minutes of Regular Meeting of the Library Advisory Board held March 24, 1981 stand as corrected. Mayor Marks left the meeting at 8:02 p.m. and turned the gavel DEPARTURE & RETURN over to Vice Mayor Valente. Mayor Marks rettinned to the meeting OF MAYOR FROM at 8:05 p.m., at which time Vice Mayor Valente rettmned the gavel MEETING to him. The Village Council unaniueusly agreed to authorize the Village Manager to proceed with negotiations with Palm Beach Co,mty to obtain $8,064.00 in matching fiords for lighting at A7lamanda Park. On motion of Vice Mayor Valente, seconded by President Pro Tem Brown, all present voting aye, Bi11 No. 381 entitled: ' AN ORDIlVANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE NORTH PATS'i BEACH BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 was placed on first reading and read by title alone. FUNDS FOR LIGHTING AT ATTAMA1QIlA pARI~ BILL 381 PLACID ON 1ST READING Councilman Moore moved to amend Bill No. 381 to put in the NATION TO AMEND correct dollars so that we know what the actual cost is, and BILL 381 WITEIDRAWN what is left over would go into an unassigned bond fund balance. Dtn_ing the discussion, Councilman Moore withdrew his motion. After the ballots were counted, it was deter- mined that Orla Moody was appointed to the Country Club Advisory Board as the full club member for the term ending May 1, 1983. President Pro Tem Brown nominated E. J. (Jerry) Ade, as the social member, for appointrnent to the Country Club Advisory Board. Councilwoman Nolan nominated Edwin Ashton. Councilman. Moore nominated Bruce Oliver. After the ballots were counted, it was determined that E. J. (Jerry) Ade was appointed to the Country Club Advisory Board as the social member for the term ending May 1, 1983. Councilwoman Nolan nominated Gary Brandenbtffg for appointment to the North Palm Beach Board of Adjustment. President Pro Tem Brown nominated Hy Borax. Councilman Nfoore nominated Norman Bott and Daniel Wilson. After the ballots were count- ed, it was determined that Norman Bott and Hy Borax were appointed members of the North Palm Beach Board of Adjust- :rent for a term ending May 1, 1984. Gary Brandenburg was appointed as first alternate member and Daniel Wilson as second alternate ma~ber of the North Palm Beach Board of Adjustment for a term ending May 1, 1982. On motion of President Pro Tem Brown, seconded by Councilman Moore, all.present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. 35-81 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VLZZAGB COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE NORTH PAIA4 BEACH BOARD OF ADJUS~]T AND SETTING FORTH THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 35-81. DUNN, INC. , WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA FOR ITEM N0. 1 - AT raNtat~mA RAT 7, FrFrn LIGHTING, IN T'fiE AMOUNT OF $87,468.00, FROM ACCOUNT N0. 71-581-63.10 (AT:rAMAnmA LIGHTING), AS APPROVED BY COUNCIL was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 38-81. President Pro Tem Brown moved that we authorize the purchase of two used golf 'carts in the approximate amount of $1,900.00 The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Nolan for discussion. President Pro Tem Brown amended the motion as follows: that we authorize the purchase of one used golf cart (in the approx- imate amount of $950.00, to be expended from Account No. 622-572-64.10 (Golf Course Assessments) to be assigned to the greenskeeper. The motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Valente and passed 3-2, with Councilman Moore and Councilwoman Nolan opposed. Thereafter Council wted on the main motion, as amended, which passed 3-2, with Councilman Moore and Councilwoman. Nolan opposed.
