Mayor Marks called the Special Session to order ROLL CALL
at 6:00 p.m. A11 members of the Council were
present. Mr. Gildan was out of state.
The reason for calling the Special Session this
date was because the business at hand could not
wait until Council's Regular Session of January
8, 1981.
Councilwoman Nolan moved that we ratify and
authorize the Mayor to sign the Contract be-
tween the Palm Beach County Benevolent Associ-
ation and the Village of North Palm Beach
Public Safety Department. The motion was
seconded by President Pro Tem Valente.
Councilwoman Nolan moved that we leave the wage
scale (1980-81) in Article 30 of the Contract.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Brown
and passed 4-1, with Vice Mayor Moore opposed.
The Council reviewed the proposed Contract and
made several corrections, which were initialed
by Mayor Marks and Ralph Paulding, Representative
for the PBA.
Thereafter Council voted on the main motion, and
unanimously ratified the contract and authorized
the Mayor to sign it as corrected.
There being no further business to come before
the Council, on motion of Vice Mayor Moore,
seconded by Councilwoman Nolan, all present
voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at 6:30
p.m.
