VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

Mayor Moore called the Special Meeting to order at 7:00
p.m. A11 members of the Council were present.
The purpose of this meeting is to constitute the Council
as the official General Election Canvassing Board for the
purpose of canvassing the vote of March 20, 1979 in
accordance with Section 10-25 of the Village Code.
The official tabulation of machine votes cast in the
General Election of March 20, 1979 are as follows:
Village Councilman, Group 2:
William H. Brown 1343 votes
Harriet Nolan
789 votes
Village Councilman, Group 4:
V. A. Marks 1329 votes
R. John Schneider 827 votes
Opinion Proposition -..The Oakes Building
Yes Votes 1092
No Votes 1083
Following the tabulation of machine votes, the Council
proceeded to open the absentee ballots which had been
received in the office of the Village Clerk. The total
for each candidate then read as_follocus:
Village Councilman, Group 2:
William H. Brown 1357 votes

With the Proposition Opinion - Should the Oakes Building
be restored ending in a tie, Councilman Marks suggested
there be a recount of the machine votes. This will be
done on March 22, 1979.
On motion of Vice Mayor Kazimir, seconded by Councilman
Marks, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No.
17-79 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 20, 1979
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 17-79.

OPINION
The Deputy Village Clerk administered the Oath of Office OATHS OF OFFICE
to newly elected Councilmen William H. Brown and V. A. ADMINISTERED
Marks. These oaths are in accordance with Article V,
Section 2-41 of the Village Code, and shall be spread
upon the minutes of the Council.
There being no further business to come before the ADJOURNMENT
Council, on motion of Mayor Moore, seconded by Council-
woman Love, all present voting aye, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
