OF THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD
THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 1979

Donald J. Kazimir, Vice Mayor
Patsy B. Love, President Pro Tem
' V. A. Marks, Councilman
Al Moore, Councilman

Mayor Brown called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 ROLL CALL
p.m. All members of the Council were present.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear the PURPOSE OF
comments of the public concerning the Comprehensive PUBLIC HEARING
Plan of the Village.
Legal notice of this Public Hearing was published LEGAL NOTICE
in the Palm Beach Post on June 6, 1979 and posted PUBLISHED
according to law.
The only member of the public who commented on the COMN[ENTS FROM THE
Plan was Mr. John LaCerda, President, Yacht Club Drive PUBLIC
Civic Association, who resides at 130 Yacht Club Drive.
He stated concern for the vacant ground at the north end
of Marina - the so-called Triton site. This land is
' presently zoned R-3. However, the Comprehensive-Plan
projects it for possible rezoning to C-1. He stated
their area of the Village is mostly condominium and
he hopes it will remain that way. Because Route 1
forms the western edge of the property he feels there
would be a problem of ingress and egress off that
thoroughfare because of the closeness of the bridge
across the Intracoastal. He stated a real.tor had
indicated they had a client who was interested in
that property as a site for a restaurant if_the
down-zoning could be accomplished. He said a
restaurant on Marina Drive we feel would be detri-
mental to the neighborhood and present almost in-
sufferable traffic problems along Marina Drive and
Yacht Club Drive plus other nuisances. He stated
the Civic Association wishes to go on record in regard
to this problem and trusts the Council will be cooper-
ative.
There being no further business to come before the ADJOiJ12NMENT
Council, the Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:03
p.m.
