Vice Mayor Love called the Special Meeting to order at ROLL CALL
7:55 p.m. All members of the Council were present except
Councilman Slater:
The purpose of this Special Meeting is to constitute the PURPOSE OF
Council as the official Runoff Election Canvassing Board MEETING
for the purpose of canvassing the vote of March 25, 1975,
under the provisions of the Village Charter and Section 12-57
of the Village Code.
The Village Council inspected the Statement of Canvass for INSPECTION OF
the Runoff Election of March 25, 1975 for Precincts 48, 53, STATEMENTS OF
49, 34, 50 and 52. CANVASS
The Clerk read the official tabulation of machine votes
cast in the Runoff Election of March 25, 1975 and these
are as follows:
Village Councilman, Group 4
Betty W. French 666 votes
V. A. Marks 779 votes
Following the tabulation of machine votes, the Council
proceeded to open the absentee ballots which had been
received in the office of the Village Clerk. The Clerk
then read a total for each candidate ~s follows:
Village Councilman, Group LF
Betty W. French 672 votes
V. A. Marks 794 votes
On motion of Councilman Heraty, seconded by Councilman
Greeley, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution
No. 15-75 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE RUNOFF
ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 25, 1975
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No.
15-75.
Clerk administered Oath of Office to newly elected
Councilman V. A. Marks. This oath is in accordance
with Article III, Section 5, of the Village Charter
and shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council.
A Loyalty Oath was read and signed by Councilman
V. A. Marks. This oath is required by Florida
Statutues 876.05 and shall be spread upon the minutes
of the Council.
