03-19-1975 VC SP-MMINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 1975 n 1 Present: Walter N. Colbath, Jr., Mayor William A. Greeley, Councilman ---- Ronald L. Heraty, Councilman Robert F. Slater, Councilman Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: M. C. Love, Jr., Vice Mayor Mayor Colbath called the Special Meeting to order at_ ROLL CALL 7:10 p.m. All members of the Council were present except Vice Mayor Love. This meeting was called to order in the conference room because the Village court session was still in progress in the council chambers. The purpose of this meeting is to constitute the Council PURPOSE OF as the official General Election Canvassing Board for the MEETING purpose of canvassing the vote.of March 18, 1975, under the provisions of the Village Charter and Section 12-57 of the Village Code. On motion of Councilman Greeley, seconded by Councilman - INSPECTION Heraty, all present voting aye, the Council inspected OF STATEMENTS and accepted the Statement of Canvass for the General OF CANVASS Election of March 18, 1975 for-Precincts 48, 53, 49, 34, 50 and 52. The Clerk read the official tabulation of machine votes CLERK READS cast in the General Election of March 18, 1975 and these TAB OF are as follows: MACHINE VOTES Village Councilman,-Group 2 - Walter N. Colbath, Jr. 730 votes Mervin H. McIntyre 772 votes _ _ Village Councilman, Group 4 Michael Cirullo 238 .votes Betty W. French 547 votes __-_--_ V. A. Marks 732 votes Following the tabulation of machine votes, the Council -ABSENTEE proceeded to open the absentee ballots which had been BALLOTS received in the office of the Village Clerk. The Clerk COUNTED then read. a total for each candidate as follows: Village Councilman. GTOllA 2 i Walter N. Colbath, Jr. 740 votes - Mervin H. McIntyre 776 -votes - Village Councilman, Group 4 Michael Cirullo 243 votes Betty W. French 550 votes V. A. Marks 738 _ votes On motion of Councilman Heraty, seconded by Councilman ACCEPTANCE Greeley, all present voting aye,.. Council accepted the _ OF ABSENTEE absentee ballots as counted. BALLOTS E. 9 Minutes of Special Meeting-- Held Wednesday, March 19, 1975 Page 2 On motion of Councilman Greeley, seconded by Councilman Heraty, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. l~E-75 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 18, 1975 was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 14-75. Clerk administered Oath of Office to newly elected Councilman Mervin H. McIntyre. This oath is in accordance with Article III, Section 5, of the Village Charter and shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council. Loyalty Oath was read and signed by Councilman Mervin H. McIntyre. This oath is required by Florida Statutes 876.05 and shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council. After Mervin H. McIntyre took his Oath of Office and signed his Loyalty Oath he became an official member o.f the Village Council. Thereafter Mayor Colbath turned the gavel over to President Pro Tem W. A. Greeley and vacated his place at the Council table.
