03-21-1973 VC SP-M1 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE i VILT~FIGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD ~ WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21, 1173 I Present: H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Mayor Ronald B. Cadby, Vice Mayor Robert W. Martin, Councilman Thomas B. Rhodes, Councilman Robert F. Slater, Councilman Dolores R.Walker, Village Clerk Mayor Privett called the Special Meeting toorder at ROLL CALL 7:00 p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Vice Mayor Cadliy who arrived at 7:02 p.m. Mayor Pri.vett stated that the purpose of this meeting is to constitute the Council as the official General Election Canvassing Board for the purpose o£ canvassing the vote of March 20, 1973, under the provisions of the Village Charter and Section 12-57 of the Village Code. Council inspected the Statement of Canvass eral Election on March 20, 1973 for Precin 53, 49, 34, 50 and. 52. The Clerk read the official tabulation of cast in the General Election on March 20, are as follows: Village Councilman, Group 2: Walter N. Colbath, Jr. 473 Everett R. Miller, Jr. 281 Thomas B. Rhodes 271 the Gen- No. 48, ne votes and these Village Councilman, Group 4: Frank W. Carretta 158 Robert F. Slater 575 Dr. Stanley L. Weiss 292 Following the tabulation of machine votes, C'iouncil proceeded to open the absentee ballots which: had been received in the office of the Village Clerk.I~I The Clerk then read a total for each candidate aS follows: Village Councilman, Group 2: Walter N. Colbath, Jr. Everett R. Miller, Jr. Thomas B. Rhodes Village Councilman. Groun 4: Frank W. Carretta Robert F. Slater Dr. Stanley L. Weiss Total Machine Votes Cast Total Absentee Ballots 476 votes 287 votes 277 votes I 165 votes 581 vo es 294 vo~es 1,041 ~ 15 PURPOSE OF MEETING INSPECTION OF STATEMENTS OF CANVASS CLERK READS TAB OF' MACHINE VOTES ABSENTEE BALLOTS COUNTED 1 f 1 r-` .: Minutes of Special Meeting Held Wednesday, March 21, 1973 Page 2 On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded Martin, all present voting aye, proposed No. 11-73 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF'NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS QF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 20, 1473 was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 11-73. Clerk administered Oath of Office to Councilman Robert F. Slater, who was elected for a second term in the March 20, 1973 General Election. This oath is in accordance with Article III, Section 5, of the Village Charter, and shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council.
