Mayor Privett called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:03 ROLL CALL
p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members
being present except Councilman Martin.
Mayor Privett gave the invocation and Councilman Rhodes INVOCATION
led the Council and the public in the Pledge of Allegiance & PLEDGE OF
to the Flag. ALLEGIANCE
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman APPROVAL OF
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular MINUTES
Meeting held Thursday, December 28, 1972 were approved
as amended.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman ACCEPTANCE
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular OF MINUTES
Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Advisory .Board held
December 13, 1972 were accepted.
Mrs. Betty Odle and Mrs. Louis Enders, who were present NPB VILLAGE
at this meeting, informed the Village Council that the HALL RE-
North Palm Beach Garden Club had selected the Village CIPIENT OF
Hall grounds as the recipient of their Landscape Award. NPB GARDEN
CLUB LAND-
Mrs. Odle presented the. North Palm Beach Garden Club SCAPE AWARD
Landscape Award plaque to Mayor Privett, on .behalf
of the Village Council, covering the three month
period in which the award will remain in the possession
of the Village of North Palm Beach. Mrs. Odle also
presented Mayor Privett with a Certificate of Award. for Land-
scape Design, which will remain in the Village permanently.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded. by Councilman ACCEPTANCE
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the financial statements OF FINANCIAL
for the Village for the periods ending October 1972 and STATEMENTS
November 1972; and the financial statement for the North
Palm Beach Country Club for the period ending October
1972 were accepted.
' On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman BILL 175
Rhodes, all present voting aye, Bill No. 175 entitled: PLACED ON
1ST READING
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PAIM BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, BY ADDING THERETO THE
DEFINITION OF "BATTER PILE" AND SETTING FORTH
REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR THE DESIGN AND
INSTALLATION OF BATTER PILES
was placed on first reading and read in full.

On motion of Vice_Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Slater, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No.
1-73 entitled:
' A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ;NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE VILLAGE
CLERK TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF
PALM BEACH GARDENS AND THE TOWN OF LAKE PARK CONCERNING
ANIMAL CONTROL AND THE HIRING OF A JOINT ANIMAL CONTROL
WARDEN
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 1-73.
On motion of Vice Niayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No.
2-73 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE VILLAGE
CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH AND LES JAHN FOR
SERVICES AS TENNIS PRO FOR_ THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH
was read in full and adopted. as read as Resolution No.
2-73.
On motion of Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman
Slater, all present voting aye, that Mr. Everett Miller's
offer to resign from the Recreation Advisory Board not be
accepted, and that the Council approves thaf his offer
to resign has been withdrawn.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, that the yearly tennis
fees for non-residents be changed to $36.00. per year
for a single membership, and that all memberships
expire on October 31 of each year.
There being no further business to come before the
Council, on motion of Councilman Rhodes, seconded by
Vice Mayor Cadby, all present voting aye, the meeting
was adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
