01-31-1972 VC PH-MMINUTES DF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD MONDAY, JANUARY 31, 1972 Present: H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Mayor Ronald B. Cadby, Vice Mayor Robert W.-Martin, Councilman Thomas B. Rhodes, Councilman Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: Robert F. Slater, Councilman Mayor Privett called the Public Hearing to order at 8:10 p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll,. all members being present except Councilman Slater. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to inform the public and the Council, and to hear their comments on two applications for dredge permits, both in the same area in the Intracoastal Waterway. The notice of this Public Hearing was mailed to the Village residents in ample time, was posted in three conspicuous places in the Village, and was read in total at this Public Hearing this evening.: Mayor Privett instructed the Clerk to state in these minutes that we have received the check for Permit No. 1 and for Permit No. 2. Mr. Eugene Potter, representing General Portland Land Development Company, outlined to the Council and the public his comparry's plans concerning the two requested dredge permits. Thereafter, the Village Council heard the comments and questions from the public on this matter. The questions posed by the public were answered by the Mayor, the Council, Mr. Potter, or Mr. M. R. Baggett of Brockway, Owen & Anderson Engineers, Inc., the engineering firm engaged by General Portland Land Development Company. It was the opinion of both Mr. Potter and Mr. Baggett that they could change the permit application to specify the minimum distance of eighty feet from the south bulkhead for dredging. Mayor Privett asked for a count of hands, and the only person in the audience in favor of this matter was Mr. Potter - all others present were opposed.
