Walker, Village Clerk _, -. + 14 llecember 1972 MEMORANDUM• _ T0: Village Manager FROM: Director, Public Services SUBJ: Recommendation re bids for refuse collection trucks. 1. Approved .budget amount for these items is:$~45,500. .less trade in of $1200. -for a net_ of $~44, 300. 2. Trade in of $800. is considered to be to low for the 1967 GMC packer truck and I recommend that tiie Village retain the tr-uck at this time and offer it for. sale early in the spring along with some other surplus equipment. Believe that it should bring in-the neighborhood $1500. 3. A Loadmaster packer body was bid by Rich Motors, Inc., and this part of their bid is considered to be non-responsive since it does not meet the specifications; ie, strength of packer body, degree of compaction and especially the sire of the hooper is-too small to accomodate the emptying of the scooter dumps. _ 4. Recoommend that bids be awarded as follows: Rich Motors, Inc., West Palm Beach, Fla., be awarded a contract for two International Model CO-1910A cab and chassis per specifications, FOB the packer factory in Enterprise, Ala~haama, for the total sum of $27,757.40. Tom Woods Equipment Co., Miami, Fla. be awarded a contract for two packer bodies, Garwood_Model L920 with rear loading lift bar and washout tank for the sum total of $20,050, FOB North Palm-Beach, Fla. 5. If the contracts are aw be $48,807.40; this is approximately $1500,00 trade-in packer truck. over the budget. arded as recommended in item #-r4, the total will $4507.40 over the net budget of which should be recovered upon the sale of the. Thus, the award will' be i,.n_final $3007.~E0 C.R. O'Meilia V Cs L v V O r3 -• s ~ ~ [ , 4 ~ 1` N " f E I $ 9 .
