Mayor Privett called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:00 ROLL CALL
p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members
being present except CouncilmanRho-des. Councilman Slater
was not present at roll call, but arrived at 8:03 p.m:
Mayor Privett gave the invocation and Councilman Martin INVOCATION &
led the Council and the public in the Pledge of Allegiance PLEDGE OF
to the Flag. ALLEGIANCE
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, the minutes of Regular
Meeting held Thursday, August 12, 1971 were: approved as
written.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, that we change the agenda
and place the following proposed Resolution: entitled:

TO PROVIDE FOR SMALLER AND MORE MANAGEABLE SCHOOL
DISTRICTS RESPONSIVE TO THE LOCAL RESIDENTS; REQUEST-
ING THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO INSTITUTE INITIATIVE,
REFERENDUM AND RECALL FOR SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS; AND

as the next item on the agenda. Vice Mayor,Cadby then
read this proposed Resolution in total.
On motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Martin, all present voting aye, that the the proposed
Resolution above be placed on Council s workshop agenda
of September 2, 1971 and Council's regular meeting
agenda of September 9, 1971.
Qn motion of Vice Mayor Cadby, seconded by Councilman
Slater, all present voting aye, the minutes .of Board
of Governors meeting held Wednesday, July 22, 1971; the
minutes of workshop meeting of Board of Governors held
Wednesday, August 4, 1971; and the minutes of Recrea-
tion Advisory Board meeting held Tuesday, August 3,
1971 were accepted.
