Vice Mayor Cadby called the Regular Meeting,to order at ROLL CALL
8:00 p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members
being present except Mayor Privett and Councilman Slater,
both of whom are on vacation.
Councilman Martin gave the invocation and Councilman
Rhodes led the Council and the public in the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
On motion of Councilman Martin, seconded by .Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the minutes :of Regular
Meeting held Thursday, July 22, 1971 were approved as
written.
Mr. Roger Strickland of Southern Bell Telephone Company
appeared before the Council to inform them of the up-
coming rate change proposal of Southern Bell, to ex-
plain why the rate increase is necessary, a_nd to answer
any questions the Council posed concerning this matter.
On motion of Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, the minutes of Planning
and Zoning Advisory Board meeting held July 14, 1971
were accepted.
On motion of Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman
Rhodes, all present voting aye, Bill No. 121: entitled:
