Mayor Lewis called--the public hearing to order at
8:00 p.m. and asked fhe Clerk to call the. roll, all
members being present except Vice-Mayor Bell.
The purpose of the public hearing was to review and
answer all questions concerning the proposed appropri-
ations and budgeted items for fiscal year 1970-71 for
the Village of North Palm Beach-and the North Palm Beach
Country Club. Mayor Lewis stated that although this
public hearing is not required_by law, it is the policy
of the Council to provide the public with as much in-
formation as possible on the funding and financang of
the Village.
Clerk read legal notice of this public hearing, which
was published in the Palm Beach Post on September 27,
1970 and posted in three conspicuous places in the
Village.
Through the use of a Vue-Graph machine, departmental.
recap information was provided on a screen for viewing
by 'those residents in attendance. For the information
of -the public, Mayor Lewis recapped each department
and the categories of expenditures reflected. In
all instances where questions were raised. concerning
the proposed Village budget, responses were made by
the Mayor and/or the Village Manager.
Mayor Lewis then recapped the proposed North Palm
Beach Country Club budget for the benefit of the
public, and responses to questions raised were
answered by the Mayor and/or Country C1ub.Manager.
There being no further business to come before the
Council, on motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by
Councilman Privett, all present voting aye, the
public hearing on the fiscal appropriations for.
fiscal 1970-71 for the Village of North Palm Beach
was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
