11-12-1970 VC REG-MMINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE _ VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1970 Present: Thomas F. Lewis, Mayor Thor~~as R. Bell, Vice-Mayor Ronald B. Cadby, Councilman H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Lawrence: J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Mayor Lewis called the regular meeting to order at 8:00 ROLL CALL p.m. and asked the clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Vice-Mayor Bell, who arrived at the meeting at 8:45 p.m. Mayor Lewis led the Council and the public.in the PLEDGE OF Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ALLEGIANCE On motion of Councilman Watt, seconded by Councilman PUBLIC HEARIATGS Cadby, all present voting aye, that the minutes_of OF 10/15/70 ON public hearings held Thursday, October 15, 1970 for APPROPRIATION the purpose of the reappropriation ordinance and the & REAPPROPRIATION appropriation ordinance be approved as written. ORDINANCES APPROVED On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Council- 10/22/70 man Cadby, all present voting aye, that the minutes MINUTES APPROV- of regular meeting held Thursday, October 22, 1970 ED AS AMENDED be approved as amended. Mayor Lewis advised the Council that he had attended- PLACQUE FOR the Inter-City First Aid Squad dinner dance on Satur- VILLAGE FROM day, October 31, and accepted, on behalf of the Village, INTER-CITY a placque from this organization. The Mayor stated FIRST AID SQD. that it was a very fine affair and that all communities were well represented. On motion of Councilman Cadby, seconded by Councilman Watt, all ,present voting aye, the minutes of regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board held Wednesday, October 14, 1970; the minutes of special meeting of the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board held Wednesday, October 28, 1970; and the report of the Beautification Corrunittee of Wednesday, October 28, 1970 were accepted. 10/14/70 & 10/28/70 MINUTES OF P & Z AD. BD. MEETINGS & 10/28/70 REPORT OF BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE BEAUT. COMM. ACCEPTED On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Council- RES. 477-70 man Cadby, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution ADOPTED No. 477-70 entitled:- A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF` NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT NO ADDITIONAL BRIDGES BE ERECTED TO CONNECT THE MAINLAND OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH WITH THAT PORTION OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH WHICH LIES EAST OF LAKE WORTH AND BORDERS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 477-70. ADOPTED No. 478-70 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY NOT TO CHANGE THE BOUNDARIES OF ATTENDANCE FOR PALM BEACH GARDENS HIGH SCHOOL, BUT BEGIN IMMEDIATE PLANNING AND INITIATE ACTION SOON TO PROVIDE THE NEEDED ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR THE 1971-72 SCHOOL YEAR was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 478-70. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Council- CARPETING FOR man Cadby, all present voting aye, that we authorize MEN TS LOCKER the purchase of carpet from Seth Ford Carpet for the ROOM & HALL AT men's locker room and hall at the North Palm Beach NPBCC Country Club in an amount not to exceed $967.50. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Council- - CARPETING FOR man Cadby, all present voting aye, that we authorize NPBCC GOLF _ _ the purchase of carpet For the North Palm Beach Country PRO SHOP Club golf pro shop from Seth Ford Carpet in an amount not to exceed $908.50. On motion of Councilman Cadby, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present voting aye, that we advertise for public bid for lease of the North Palm Beach Country Club driving range under the terms as delineated by Mr. Hayes. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Council- man Cadby, all present voting aye, that we waive the bond required under Section 11-31 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code set forth in the application of 01d Port Cove, general contractor, for a proposed boat slip for Florida Realty Building Company, Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, as set forth on the application prepared by Brockway, Owen and Anderson Engineers,-Inc., dated July 1970, being drawing 70-1150. PUBLIC BID FOR LEASE OF NPBCC DRIVING RANGE WAIVER OF BOND FOR OLD PORT COVE PROPOSED BOAT SLIP Minutes of Regular Meeting Held Thursday, November 12, 1970 Page 3 1 ~I 1 On motion of Councilman Cadby, seconded by Vice-Mayor Bell, all present voting aye, that we approve the purchase of 'the building owned by Corinthian Construction Company at 136 U. S. I{ighway No. 1 in accordance with the conditions set forth in the letter from Corinthian Construction Company dated November 6, 1970 together with the approval of final documents by the village manager and village attorney. APPROVAL TO PURCHASE BLDG. OWNED BY CORINTHIAN CONST. CO. On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman PURCHASE OF Watt, all-present voting aye, that approval be given EXTENDIBLE to the manager to obtain the extendible tower ladder TOWER LADDER from Desco, Inc., Hastings, Nebraska, for a sum not FROM DESCO, INC. to exceed $528.00.
