05-28-1970 VC REG-MMINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, MAY 28, 1970 Present: Thomas F. Lewis, Mayor ' Thomas R. Bell, Vice-Mayor - H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney _ Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: Ronald B. Cadby, Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Mayor Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Councilman Caclby and Councilman Watt. Mayor Lewis gave the invocation, after which Vice- Mayor Be11 led the Council and the public in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Privett, all present 'voting aye, the minutes of Regular Meeting held Thursday, May 14, 1970 were approved as corrected. ' The Council and Mr. Stu Taber, Recreation Director, presented Certificates of Participation to those.. youngsters participating in the 1970 Gymnastics of the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Meet of the Florida Gold Coast. Mayor Lewis informed the Council that he had re- ceived a communication from North Palm Beach Utilities, Inc. stating that Messrs. Ross and Trap- nell would be the utility company's representatives at the joint meeting of Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Park and North Palm Beach on pollution which is .to be held Tuesday, June 9, 1970 at the Palm Beach Gardens High School auditorium. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Vice-Mayor Bell, all present voting aye, the minutes of Board of Governors meeting held April 15, 1970, and the minutes of informal meeting of the Recreation Advisory Board held May 12, 1970 were accepted. Mr. Mervin McIntyre gave a report of the Ad Hoc ' Committee's trip to Boca Raton, Florida on Tuesday, May 19. Nine members of the committee and five other persons made this trip. They met with Boca`s Planning and Zoning Director, Mr. Walter R. Young, James E. Becker, Chairman, and other members of the Planning and Zoning Board, and were given a "red carpet" tour of the city. ACCEPTED AD HOC COMMITTEE'S I TRIP TO BOCA -BATON - 5/19/70 Y Minutes of Regular Meeting Held Thursday, May 28, 1970 Page 2 On motion of Vice-Mayor Be11, seconded by Councilman BILL N0. 92 Privett, all present voting aye, Bill No. 92 entitled: PLACED ON 1ST READING & READ AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, IN FULL FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 116-1965, WHICH GRANTED A CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE TO BURNUP & SIMS, INC. BY AMENDING PAYMENTS TO THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES was placed on first reading and read in full. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Vice-Mayor RES. NO. Bell, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. 456-70 456-70 entitled: ADOPTED A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE VILLAGE BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 456-70. Village Manager read highlights of Village and North VILLAGE AND Palm Beach Country Club financial statements for NPBCC FINANCIAL period ending April 30, 1970. Due to the fact that STATEMENTS Councilman Cadby and Councilman Watt were absent from TABLED this meeting, Council tabled these financial statements until the workshop meeting of June 4, 1970.
