03-02-1970 VC PH1-MMINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD MONDAY, MARCH 2, 1970 1 C Present: Thomas F. Lewis, Mayor Thomas R. Bell, Vice-Mayor A11an V. Everard, Councilman H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Mayor Lewis called the public hearing to order at 7:40 ROLL CALL p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members -_ being present. Clerk read legal notice of public hearing which was LEGAL NOTICE -_ published in the Palm Beach Post on February 15, 1970 READ and posted as required by the Village Charter. Clerk read Bill No. 87 entitled: BILL N0, 87 READ IN TOTAL AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 20, AS HERETOFORE _ -- AMENDED, THE SAME BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING " ORDINANCE OF SAID VILLAGE, BY ADOPTING A NEW OFFICIAL ZONING MAP, BY PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD _ OF AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AND FOR IDENTIFYING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF~'THE VILLAGE, AND BY CLARIFYING OR RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY AS R-l, SINGLE _- _- FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, INCLUDING ALL PROPERTY LYING EAST OF THE WATERS OF LAKE WORTH WITHIN THE _ VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH AND CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING NORTH OF TEAL WAY WEST OF THE NORTH PALM BEACH _ WATERWAY IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH; BY PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES = in total. Mayor Lewis stated that the purpose of the public hearing PURPOSE OF was to hear the pros and cons concerning Bill No. 87. PUBLIC JIEARING The Chair then asked for comments relative to Bill No. 87. Those in opposition to the passage of this proposed THOSE IN ordinance were: Mr. Clair Andersen and Mr. Ronald Sales, OPPOSITION TO representing 0. P. Corporation, Bankers Life and Casualty BILL N0. 87 Company and Royal American Realty, Inc. Ir 1, i~ Alvin Moore 437 Oyster Road Bob Rowe 837 Fathom Road Mayor Lewis instructed the Clerk to note in these minutes that the second public hearing on Bill No. 88, which was scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. this evening, will be delayed due_to the fact that the first public hearing on Bill No. 87 consumed more time than was anticipated. There being no further business to come before the Council at this public hearing, on motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Privett, all present voting aye, the public hearing was adjourned at 8.40 p.m. Minutes recorded by: Dolores R.
