Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager
acting as Deputy Village Clerk
Mayor Lewis called the Special Emergency Meeting
to order at 8:55 p.m. and asked the Deputy Village
Clerk to call the roll, all members being present.
Deputy Village. Clerk was instructed by Mayor Lewis
to poll the Council as to whether each member sub-
scribed and agreed to sitting in a Special Emergency
Meeting. A11 five members of the Council so sub-
scribed.
The purpose of the meeting was so that the Village
Council could consider the adoption of a Resolution
authorizing the employment of the law firm of Nason,
Gildan & Yaeger, P. A. to defend the Village and the
Village Council vs. Royal American Industries, Inc.
in connection with a hearing to be held on March
25, 1970, one day prior to the next regularly scheduled
Village Council meeting, thereby making it necessary
to hold this Special Emergency Meeting.
On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Council-
man Everard, all present voting aye, (5-0;), proposed
Resolution No. 442-70 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EMPLOY THE LAW FIRM OF
NASON, GILDAN & YAEGER, P. A. TO REPRESENT THE
DEFENDANTS IN THE CAUSE ENTITLED "THE STATE OF
FLORIDA UPON RELATION OF' ROYAL AMERICAN
INDUSTRIES, INC., A FLORIDA CORPORATION, VS.
THOMAS F. LEWIS, MAYOR, ET AL" AND SETTING FORTH
PROVISIONS FOR PAYMENT OF FEES AND COSTS IN
CONNECTION THEREWITH
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No.
442-70. '
There being no further business to come before the
Council at this Special Dnergency Meeting, on motion
of Councilman Everard, seconded by Vice-Mayor Bell,
' all present voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at
9:03 p.m.
