Mayor Lewis called the Special Meeting to order at 7:40 ROLL CALL
p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members _.
being present except Councilman Everard.
Mayor Lesais stated that the purpose of the meeting was
to constitute the Council as the official General Election
Canvassing Board for the purpose of canvassing the vote of
March 17, 1970, under the provisions of the Village
Charter and Section 56 of Ordinance No. 42.
The meeting was recessed at 7:43 p.m.
The meeting was reconvened at 8:20 p.m. Mayor Lewis
asked the Clerk to Bali the roll, all members being
present..
' Council inspected the Statement of Canvass for the
General Election on March 17, 1970 for Precinct
Nos. 48, 49, 50 and 52.
Mayor Lewis asked the Clerk to read the official tabu-
lation of machine votes cast in the General Election on
March 17, 1970 and these are as follows:
Village Councilman. Group 1:
Ronald B. Cadby 932 votes
Allan V. Everard 566 votes
Jeffrey A. Ornstein 394 votes
Village Councilman, Group 3:
Charles U. Ferguson 135 votes
George R. Kane 437 votes
H. Mallory Privett, Jr. -1322 votes
Vil~.age Councilman, Group S:
Thomas F. Lewis 1296 votes
Stan Mosier 2 votes (write-ins)
Winn Levy
Joe Tulino 1

Following the tabulation of machine votes, Council
proceeded to open the ab sentee ballots whi ch had been
received in the Clerks office. The Clerk then read a
total for each candidate as follows:

Clerk administered Oath of Office far newly elected
Councilmen Thomas F_ Lewis and H. Mallory Privett, Jr.,
as required by Article III, Section S, of the Village
Charter. These oaths shall be spread upon the minutes
of the Council.
On motion of Vice-Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman
Watt, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No.
4~F1-70 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 17, 1970
was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution
No. 441-70.
Mayor Lewis stated that a Special Runoff Election will
be held Tuesday, March 24, 1970 to elect by majority
Ronald B. Cadby or Allan V. Everard.

Mayor Lewis stated that Council will meet on Tuesday,
March 24, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. in the Village I-Ia11 as
' the Election Canvassing Board for the Special Runoff
Election.
There being no further business to come before the
Special Meeting of the Village Council, sitting as the
official Election Canvassing Board, on motion of Vice-
Mayor Bell, seconded by Councilman Watt, all present
voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
