06-25-1970 VC REG-MMINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- HELD THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 1970 Present: Thomas F. Lewis, Mayor Ronald B. Cadby, Councilman H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: Thomas R. Bell, Vice-Mayor Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Mayor Lewis called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:05 ROLL CALL p.m. and asked the Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Vice-Mayor Bell and Councilman Watt. The Village Attorney GIVES LEGAL stated that his main objection to this Petition was OPINION ON the fact that it asked the Council to pass Bill 93 PETITION without attaching a cApy,since there actually was no Bill 93 in existence. On motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Councilman BILL N0. 96 Cadby, all present voting aye, Bill No. 96 'entitled: PLACED ON 1ST READING & READ AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, IN FULL FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 91, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, BY AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE TREASURER TO CHARGE A PENALTY OP ONE-HALF OF ONE PERCENT PER MONTH ON DELINQUENT CHARGE ACCOUNTS AT THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB FOR ALL CHARGES EXCEPT MEMBERSHIP FEES was placed on first reading and read in full. Councilman Privett made a motion that the following MOTION WITHDRAWN four names be applied to proposed Resolution No. ON NAMES TO BE 460-70: Mr. R. M. Taylor, Mr. M. C. Love, Mr. APPLIED TO PRO- Everett R. Miller, Jr, and Mrs. Nels Michelson. POSED RES. N0. Motion withdrawn to vote by secret ballot. 460-70 ' Council then voted by secret ballot for those persons whose names they elected to have placed on proposed Resolution No. 460-70. The names of those persons receiving the greatest number of votes are as follows: Everett R. Miller, Jr., R. M. Taylor, M. C. Love and Mrs. Nets Michelson. N0. 460-70 _ Cadby, all present voting aye, proposed Resolution No. ADOPTED 460-70 entitled: _ A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF-NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLllB OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH was read in full and adopted as read as Resolution No. 460-70. Village Manager read highlights of financial statements FINANCIAL STATE- for the Village and the North Palm Beach Country Club MENTS FOR VILLAGE for period ending May 31, 1970. Th ese statements were & CLUB FOR PERIOD tabled by the Council for study at the July 2, 1970 _ ENDING 5/31/70- workshop meeting and for acceptance at the July 9, 1970 TABLED regular meeting. Minutes of Regular Meeting Held Thursday, June 25, 1970 Page 3 n 1 I l ~J On motion of Councilman Cadby, seconded by Councilman Privett - 2 to 1, Councilman Privett opposed - that we donate $250.00 to the Community Mental Health Center. $250 DONATED TO COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER Councilman Privett made a motion that the Country Club Board of Governors be authorized to proceed with the hiring of a Manager for the Country Club at a salary that will not exceed this year's current total budget and will not exceed $16,000.00 annually. Motion died for lack of a second.
