ROLL CALL
Mayor Gebbia called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of Council were present.
All members of staff were present, except the Village Attorney. CEO Kurt Gehring and Senior
Benefits Analyst Rodney Louis were present on behalf of The Gehring Group, the Agent of Record
for the Village's workers compensation insurance policy.
WORKERS COMPENSATION OVERVIEW
Mr. Louis gave a presentation entitled "Workers Compensation Overview." Mr. Louis explained how
premiums are derived and applied, and discussed the Village's experience modification factor (MOD).
Mr. Louis reviewed claims history for the policy years 2010 through 2014, and claims and
insurance projections for the 2014/2015 policy year as of December 31, 2014, total incurred
losses by policy year, and five -year total losses vs. premiums.
Additional topics included presumption claims, tracking the location and types of claims that are
occurring, targeted safety training, and other measures being taken to emphasize safety and
reduce costs.
