A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF A COMMUNICATIONS RADIO SYSTEM FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT FROM CAR -COMM, INC. PURSUANT TO PRICING ESTABLISHED
BY AN EXISTING PORTABLE AND MOBILE RADIOS, EQUIPMENT, PARTS
AND ACCESSORIES CONTRACT WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PALM
BEACH COUNTY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is requesting the purchase of a replacement radio system
utilizing budgeted and available funds; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration is recommending the purchase of a digital radio frequency
license, transmitting equipment, a base unit and forty (40) hand -held radios from Car -Comm, Inc. by
piggybacking an existing contract between Car -Comm, Inc. and the School District of Palm Beach
County (Term Contract I IC -42S); and
WHEREAS, as required by the Village's Purchasing Policies, Administration has obtained quotes from
secondary qualified vendors to verify the fair market value of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best interests
of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves the purchase of new digital frequency license,
transmitting equipment, a base unit and forty (40) hand -held radios from Car -Comm, Inc. pursuant to
School District of Palm Beach County Term Contract No. 11C -42S (Portable and Mobile Radios,
Equipment, Parts and Accessories). The total amount expended for such equipment shall not exceed
$34,331.85, with funds being expended from Account No. A6018 -35217 (Public Works Administration —
Machinery & Equipment Supplies).
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
