A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF FIREFIGHTER PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (BUNKER GEAR) FROM
BENNETT FIRE PRODUCTS COMPANY, INC. PURSUANT TO PRICING
ESTABLISHED BY AN EXISTING FIRE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES CONTRACT
WITH LAKE COUNTY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Fire Rescue Department is requesting the purchase of five (5) sets of
firefighter protective closing (bunker gear) gear utilizing budgeted and available funds; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration is recommending the purchase of Globe bunker gear from Bennett
Fire Products Company, Inc. ( "Bennett") by piggybacking an existing contract between Bennett and
Lake County (Contract No. 12- 0806B); and
WHEREAS, as required by the Village's Purchasing Policies, the Fire Department has obtained quotes
from secondary qualified vendors to verify the fair market value of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, Village Council approval is required because the total amount of purchases from this
vendor exceed $10,000.00 for the current fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best interests
of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves the purchase of five (5) sets of Globe bunker gear
from Bennett Fire Products Company, Inc. pursuant to Lake County Contract No. 12 -0806B
(Fire Equipment and Supplies). The total amount expended for such equipment shall not exceed $6,499.75,
with funds being expended from Account No. A5812 -35299 (Fire Rescue — Uniforms Volunteer).
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
