Mayor Aubrey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of Council were present,
except Vice Mayor Gebbia, who was out of town. All members of staff were present. Human
Resources Director Loren Slaydon was present.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss candidates for the position of Village Manager and to
develop a shortlist for further consideration.
Mrs. Slaydon reviewed Mr. Gebbia's shortlist of candidates, and each councilman present named
their shortlist of candidates. The Council developed a two- tiered list, with eight top -tier candidates
and eight second -tier candidates, as follows:

By consensus, Council directed that staff conduct background checks on the top eight candidates,
checks to be extended to second -tier candidates if necessary, and results to be provided to
Council as they come in. Council members may contact candidates and /or references directly,
and may forward background information to Human Resources for distribution to the entire Council.
A follow -up meeting will be scheduled to shortlist not more than five candidates for interviews.
Discussion took place concerning the interview schedule, and it was determined that interviews
would be held June 13 -14, 2014. Panel interviews with department heads will be held on June 13,
with a public reception in the evening of June 13. One -on -one interviews with council members
will be conducted the morning of June 14, followed by a public interview meeting with the
collective Council in the afternoon.

With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned at 8:42 p.m.
