A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE STATE AID TO LIBRARIES GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE
DIVISION OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAME; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, through the adoption of Resolution No. 2013 -43, the Village Council approved the
submission of an application for State Aid to Libraries Grant Funding and the execution of a
State Aid to Libraries Grant Agreement ( "Grant Agreement'); and
WHEREAS, as a condition to receipt of the grant funds, the State of Florida, Department of
State, Division of Library and Information Services ( "Division ") is requiring an amendment to
the Grant Agreement to comply with new statutory requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the execution of Amendment No. 1 to the Grant
Agreement is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves Amendment Number 1 to the Grant
Agreement between the Village and the Division, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, and authorizes the Mayor and Village Clerk to execute the
Amendment on behalf of the Village.
Section 3. All resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution shall be
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

AMENDMENT NUMBER 1 TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT
AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN the State of Florida, Department of
State, Division of Library and Information Services, hereinafter referred to as the DIVISION, and the
GRANTEE: North Palm Beach Village Council for and on behalf of North Palm Beach
Public Library
the PROJECT: State Aid to Libraries Grant
The parties entered into a grant agreement dated 2/11/2014, for implementation of a State Aid to
Libraries Grant. The parties now mutually desire to amend certain terms and conditions of the grant
agreement.
In consideration of the covenants contained herein, it is agreed as follows:
1. All sections of the original grant agreement not specifically amended by this or a prior
written amendment and all prior written amendments are hereby reaffirmed.
2. The grant agreement is hereby revised as follows:
I. The GRANTEE agrees to:
a. Provide the following as grant deliverables:
Have at least one library, branch library or member library open 40 hours or more
each week.
II. The DIVISION agrees to:
c. To distribute grant funds in one payment. The payment will be requested by the
DIVISION from the Chief Financial Officer upon execution of the amendment.
3. This amendment shall be effective upon execution.
