A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE LIBRARY'S
CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN THE DIGITAL LIBRARY RESERVE SERVICES
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA MUNICIPAL LIBRARIES
DIGITAL CONSORTIUM AND OVERDRIVE, INC. TO PROVIDE ELECTRONIC
BOOKS TO PATRONS OF THE VILLAGE LIBRARY; AUTHORIZING VILLAGE
ADMINISTRATION TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ALL ACTIONS
NECESSARY TO ENSURE CONTINUED PARTICIPATION; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, through the adoption of Resolution No. 2011 -51, the Village Council approved the
Village's participation in the Digital Library Reserve Services Agreement between the Southeast
Florida Municipal Libraries Consortium ( "Consortium ") and OverDrive, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, in approving such participation, the Village Council expressly determined that a stand-
alone contract between the Village and OverDrive, Inc. would be cost prohibitive and agreed to waive
the Village's purchasing policies and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Consortium has renewed the Agreement for an additional two year term, and Village
Administration is seeking Council approval for continued participation in the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best interests
of the residents and citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves the Village's continued participation in the
Digital Library Reserve Services Agreement between the Southeast Florida Municipal Libraries
Digital Consortium and OverDrive, Inc. for an additional two year term at a total annual cost of $3,000
with funds expended from Account No. A7927 -35445 (Electronic Resources). The Council further
authorizes Village Administration to execute all documents and take all actions necessary to secure
continued participation.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

Southeast Florida. Municipal Libraries Digital Consortium
Renewal Agreement 2014 — 2016
SEFLIN, the Southeast Florida Library Information Network, serves as the coordinator of the OverDrive
eBook lending service on behalf of the participating libraries in the consortium. SEFLIN is the renewal
agent for the Southeast Florida Municipal Libraries Digital Consortium for the renewal of the Agreement
with OverDrive, Inc. SEFLIN wishes to confirm participating library acceptance of the renewal which
extends the current OverDrive services for a twenty -four (24) month term commencing April 9, 2014
through April 8, 2016.
All other provisions of the consortium Agreement, outlined in Schedule C – Library Participation Form -
Southeast Florida Municipal Libraries Digital Consortium remain in full force and effect. Participating
Libraries may opt -out of the Agreement by providing written notice to OverDrive of such intentions at least
thirty (30) days prior to the First Renewal Term.
