A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SOLE SOURCE
PURCHASE OF ONE LIGHTNING PREDICTION AND WARNING SYSTEM
FROM THOR GUARD, INC. FOR ANCHORAGE PARK; AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE CLERK TO AMEND THE
CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND BUDGET TO TRANSFER $11,335.00 FROM
THE CAPITAL RESERVE ACCOUNT TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT
PLAYGROUND AND OUTSIDE EQUIPMENT CAPITAL ACCOUNT TO
FUND THE PURCHASE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is requesting the purchase of a lightning prediction
and warning system for Anchorage Park utilizing Capital Improvement Plan ( "CIP ") funds; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration recommends the purchase of the system from Thor Guard, Inc.,
the sole manufacturer and distributor of the lightning prediction and warning system; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council seeks to amend the current capital projects fund budget to
transfer $11,335.00 from the Capital Reserve Account to the Recreation Department Playground
and Outside Equipment Capital Account to fund the purchase of the vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best
interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby authorizes the sole source purchase of one Thor
Guard Model 75B Lightning Prediction and Warning System from Thor Guard, Inc. of Sunrise,
including installation, at a total cost of $11,335.00, with funds expended from Village Account
No. K8028 -66422 (Recreation — Playground and Outside Equipment).
Section 3. In order to fund this expenditure, the Village Council hereby approves a budget
amendment for the transfer of funds as indicated below:

Section 4. The Mayor and Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the
budget amendment for and on behalf of the Village of North Palm Beach.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
