• AN OKDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SUBSECTION (a) OF SECTION 1-8, GENERAL PENALTY;
CON'T'INUING VIOLATIONS; OF CHAPTER 1, GENERAL PROVISIONS, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE TO CHANGE THE MAXIMUM TERM OF
IMPRISONMENT FROM SIX (6) MONTHS TO SIXTY (60) DAYS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby
amend Subsection (a) of Section 1-8, General Penalty; Continuing Violations, of Chapter 1, General
Provisions, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village to read as follows:
"Section 1-8. Genera] penalty; continuing violations.
(a) Whenever in this Code any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be
unlawful or an offense, or whenever the doing of any act is required or the failure to
do any act is declared to be unlawful, where no specific penalty is provided therefore,
the violation of any such provision of this Code shall be punished by a fine not
exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment."
Section 2. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is
for any reason held by a Court to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
